Overview

For students with mathematical background who wish to acquire basic concepts. Relative frequencies, discrete probability, random variables, expectation. Testing hypotheses. Estimation. Illustrations from various fields. This course uses R as its primary computing language; details are determined by the instructor.

Logistics

Three hours of lecture and two hours of laboratory per week. Six hours of lecture and three hours of laboratory per week for 8 weeks.

Prerequisites

MATH 1A, MATH 16A, MATH 10A/10B, MATH 51 or consent of instructor.
